Decibel.LIVE will be the most affordable noise monitoring solution in the market. Decibel.LIVE contracts will be able to be initiated for a small monthly fee in contrast to current noise monitoring which requires specialist equipment and acoustic consultants or engineers costing thousands (and in some cases hundreds of thousands) of dollars. Often each party will engage their own noise consultant, Decibel.LIVE will enable parties to mutually agree on a noise consultant or completely avoid the need for a consultant by agreeing to use smartphone monitoring.
TRUSTED, VERIFIABLE RESULTS
Noise readings are submitted to the blockchain and verifiable using blockchain reporting tools. This ensures trust in the system with results shared instantly between relevant parties rather than the current situation where the noise consultant report is produced days or weeks later.
Decibel.LIVE will provide a mechanism where businesses can interact directly with impacted parties (i.e. nearby residents) thus creating a 'social contract with financial compensation should conditions not be met. This will enhance the reputation of the business and decrease the need for monitoring by local authorities, enforcement agencies and/or noise consultants. Noise monitoring in some situations will also be able to done directly by individuals using the Decibel.LIVE smartphone app, providing them with enhanced satisfaction with results.
QUICK, EASY DEPLOYMENT
Businesses will be able to initiate a smart contract in minutes specifying target noise levels by time of day. Nearby residents (or other impacted parties) will scan for relevant contracts in within proximity and requested access to the contract. Once access is approved they can vote on a preferred noise consultant or selectto self monitor using the Decibel.LIVE smartphone app (if this option is enabled).
Impacted parties will receive financial compensation within minutes should noise parameters be exceeded. This provides an incentive to businesses to ensure noise levels are acceptable and compensation to citizens for their loss of quiet existence. Currently impacted parties are very rarely compensated and the response by local authorities or enforement agencies is often not timely enough nor does it provide a specific enough outcome for impacted parties.
